False Credit Card Used In $3500 Spree, Court Told

A MAN obtained more than $3500 worth of goods and gift cards from Myer at Bondi Junction on Friday using a false credit card and driver's licence, Parramatta Bail Court was told yesterday.
Woo Wei Sim, 44, who is listed as a Malaysian national, has been charged with a number of offences including nine counts of obtaining money by deception.Police allege he bought several $500 gift cards and goods using the credit card and driver's licence before being picked up by store security then arrested by police.Police allege that Sim said during an interview that he was working for someone else who supplied him with false credit cards and drivers' licences and that he was paid $300 a day to make the purchases with the cards and give the goods to his "boss".They allege he is part of a crime ring involved in large-scale theft and fraud.Strict conditional bail was granted and the matter adjourned to Waverley Local Court on Tuesday.
